claims management
- WSIB claims control management from inception to closure of a claim
- Assistance with completing and filing the Form 7 and other WSIB forms including reporting requirements and obligations.
- Assistance in communicating and documenting matters with the WSIB and where appropriate, intervening directly with Board staff to ensure prompt response and effective claims control.
- Assistance with the preparation and/or advice on the provision of suitable work, and work hardening programs. Monitoring and provision of input into all phases of the Work Reintegration process, including assistance at Return-to-Work Specialist and Work Transition Specialist meetings onsite at the workplace.
- Assistance with arranging for, and advising on Physical Demands Analysis, Ergonomic Assessment and arranging for Independent Medical Examinations as necessary.
cost management
- Review of individual claim files to identify opportunities for cost relief under Second Injury and Enhancement (SIEF).
- Review and request Transfer of Cost where merited.
- Review and request changes of date of injury as appropriate when it is financially advantageous to do so.
- Assistance and advice on revenue matters including employer classification, premium price, Work Well and payroll audits.
- Assistance and advice on registering as an employer with the WSIB when starting a new business.

About ME
After a thirty-year professional career at the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board, encompassing over 15 years as a Claims Adjudicator and 12 years as an Employer Account Manager, Steve garnered extensive expertise in claims, revenue, and disability management. Leveraging his in-depth understanding of these domains, Steve now consults with employers, providing comprehensive guidance on all facets of worker's compensation management.
In 2013, Steve became a Licensed Paralegal under the Law Society of Ontario. Additionally, he holds designations of Notary Public and Commissioner for Taking Affidavits in the province of Ontario.
Since that time, Steve has attained commendable outcomes in advocating for numerous prominent and smaller scale employers in their appeals before both the WSIB Appeals Services Division and the Workplace Safety and Insurance Appeals Tribunal.
